Roles & Responsibilities of the Educator Assistant

A FDC educator’s assistant supports the educator in providing education and care to children. At SWFDC we approve educator assistants, only after passing them through a screening process, comprising of safety, legal and ethical checks with standardised assessment tools. Additionally, Parent approval & written consent is taken from all children’s families before we allow the assistant to commence work.

To be an educator’s assistant, you will need to:

Be at least 18 years of age

Hold a Working with Children Check

Hold a Police Check (must be no more than 6 months old)

Hold a First Aid Certificate and CPR

Have completed Training in asthma, anaphylaxis and emergency management
